The Battle of Education Secretaries with the EXTENSION PACK
Card game for education nerds with FREE postage and eco packaging. We are not anticipating producing any more batches of cards after this one.
Ready... set... FIGHT!
Who is the greatest education politician in modern England? Find out in this nerdy twist on a popular classic card game.
Want to learn the history of education? Do you know if Michael Gove was any good at his job? Designed to make education history fun and easy to remember, the Battle of Education Secretaries card game is a family game, able to be played and won in 15 minutes. (And fun enough to make rematches worthwhile!)
The cards feature all education secretaries (or their ministerial equivalent) since 1944. Starting with Rab Butler and running through all personalities, including Margaret Thatcher, David Blunkett, Estelle Morris, Michael Gove and Gavin Williamson. Each card is illustrated by an image from education cartoonist Stan Dupp and lists scores for likeability and effectiveness. (Do you agree with our scores? If you don't, scribble them out and write your own, it's your set of cards!)
We have ALSO ADDED the FOUR Education Secretaries who left in 2022, including Nadhim Zahawi, Michelle Donelan, James Cleverly and Kit Malthouse! These will arrive in a separate extension pack.
A Word Of Warning!
The label of 'Education Secretary' is reasonably modern, starting in 1964 with Quintin Hogg. Before then, education secretaries were simply the `Minister for Education"`. This pack of cards goes from 1944, beginning with Rab Butler - considered the father of modern education. Hence, it is technically Battle of Education Secretaries and Ministers for Education - but that was a bit long for the box, so we hope you do not mind that we paraphrased.
A 2nd Edition Spectacular
We were overwhelmed by how positively you responded to our first edition. Pretty much the 1st bath was sold within the first 72 hours. We got over 200 people signed up for the waiting list, so we created another batch of 500. This time there’s a slightly different box and better instructions!
Card dimensions: (L) 127 x (W) 76 x (D) 20 mm
A Great Gift For Teachers 🎁
Most people know at least one teacher. They get lots of gifts from pupils each year - chocolates, wine, flowers. Buying gifts for a teacher can therefore be difficult! Buy a bunch of these and keep them on hand as a thank you, congratulations, welcome or Happy Birthday! What else would a modern teacher want?!
We used local and environmentally friendly factories
The great people at ivory.co.uk have already delivered freshly printed card games. They are sitting in our house and waiting for the first orders.
Sustainable materials
The manufacturer is registered with the FSC, which means they purchase wood products (paper), timber and forest products that have been taken from well-managed forests.
We have selected a factory which is based in the UK to minimise the distance our cards will need to be in transit.
