Who Are We? And Why Did We Make This?
We are the creators: Laura McInerney and Mike Szczerbinski. We dream of two things: (a) a world where people can easily pronounce our last names, and (b) a world where learning can be social, fun and easy.
Solving the name problem is impossible, but the Battle of Education Secretaries is a step towards our second quest!
For the past 8 years, Laura has been obsessive about learning the lives of British education secretaries. Not only is she fascinated by the people who have taken these roles, but she also finds that knowing when they were in power, and the policies of their time, help her to quickly remember new information about education as she can quickly place it into a contextual framework (or schema, as you might call it).
Mike struggles with remembering things and he is keen on games that help. How better to learn the education secretaries than to have a game where you can pit them against each other? PLUS, the more you learn the cards, the better you get at the game.
Hence, we spent much of last year's lock-down learning how to design and make Battle of Education Secretaries and now we want to share with you too!
